My Testimony I sent recently to a friend:
Something that is very exciting has just happened. I'm sharing it with almost everyone. Our Calvary Baptist School Choir had a revival over the weekend on the Choir tour to St. Louis, MO area. First, the girls started to get right with God, Sat PM. The guys started making decisions the next day. By Sunday night the whole 45 member choir was moved upon. Some gave vibrant testimony during the service. God's presence was very evident.
After the service, instead of going to their prepared meal, they all went to a different room to pray. I discovered them when I went down to return my saxophone and music to the room. The were all in a circle, praying and crying, confessing their sin out loud one after another. Like, "God I've been so blind". They called their parents and got right. I lost track of time, but it continued for at least an hour if not much more.
Tuesday, back in Menomonee Falls at chapel they gave testimony to what God had done in their lives and the wonderful joy of His presence, how they now feel like they need to choose a different college, and a different vocation, etc. One girl said she was pursuing an international business career, now she wonders if God wants her to be a missionary. The chapel went on for over two hours. Other students that didn't go on the trip stood and said that they were getting right with God. Prayer meetings, etc are continuing to this day.
God is doing a wonderful work, just like what you’d read about great revivals of the past. I can’t help but think that God wants to carry this revival beyond Calvary Baptist School. It’s already been an encouragement in at least three churches. In the next few days I hope to add a revival page to my web site
www.DeanSanfordMusic.com as a tool to let everyone know what God is doing and spread the flame of the gospel. Testimonies from the students and their description of what has happened with maybe a picture or two will be posted.
God still delivers from sin in this present day and wants to move upon men’s hearts everywhere that will humble themselves and receive His provision of grace and mercy. He wants to give them joy and peace like they’ve never known before. My own faith has grown and God’s presence is very real.
In fact, Rich {Rich Friske}, I’m going to post what I’ve written to you as a starter. I didn’t intend to get this detailed, but I‘m just bursting to tell it. God is so good. Thanks for listening.
Dean
Note added April 7, 2007: Facing the Giants has had a great impact on the students and myself. That being said, I don’t condone all of the elements in it.
